The serial number of this Les Paul Standard Premium Plus is "00125593", which indicates it was built on January 12, 2005 in the Gibson Nashville, TN plant. I bought this guitar new in May 2005. Since then I kept it at home and played it only sporadically for my own enjoyment. It's a beauty to see and hold, is easy to play, and it sounds terrific! The body has a AAA-grade highly flamed carved maple top with a Light Burst finish, which allows the beautiful flame patterns to run all the way to the edges of the body contour. This top is bound to the solid, single cutaway mahogany back, which has a cherry finish.The set-in mahogany neck has a '50's rounded profile with a 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with Pearloid Trapezoid inlays. The scale length is 24 3/4" and the nut width is 1 11/16". All this results in a very comfortable playing combination. The nickel-plated hardware includes the standard Les Paul Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, and the headstock is equipped with three-per-side "Green Key" tuners. A cream-colored pickguard is included but has never been installed - it would be a pity to cover part of the shimmering flamed maple top and the guitar looks better without it anyway.Two high-performance BurstBucker Pro pickups with Alnico V magnets provide all the power and tone you need via two volume and two tone controls with "Gold Top Hat" knobs. And a three-way switch allows using either one or both of the pickups.This Les Paul 2005 Standard Premium Plus guitar is in excellent condition as I only played it at home as a retired hobby-musician and mostly kept it in its case. There are no scratches or any other damage. The only minor playing wear is that, depending on the light and viewing angle, one can see some dulling of the finish in a couple of spots as, for example, from resting my arm on the body of the guitar while playing. Although I tried, I was unable to capture this with a photograph.This Les Paul weighs 8 lbs. 2.5 oz. and fits beautifully in the plush, dark colored interior of its original "Made in Canada" Black Reptile Pattern Hardshell Case. The case and shipping, using FedEx Ground/Home Delivery, are, of course, included in the price.
