The Digital Konnekt x32 from TC Electronic is a FireWire based computer audio interface, digital patchbay, and format converter. With such a multitude of inputs, outputs, and routing capabilities, the Digital Konnekt x32 could be used for a variety of computer audio systems and solutions. A unique plug-in called "Integrator" is included, which enables you to utilize your digital audio hardware in DAW software the same way you use software-based plug-ins and instruments. The extensive I/O of the Digital Konnekt x32 features 8 channels of AES/SPDIF inputs and outputs, 6 channels of Toslink inputs, 4 channels of Toslink outputs, 8 channels of ADAT inputs and outputs (with the ability to run 8 channels ADAT at 96 kHz), 16 channels of FireWire inputs and outputs, wordclock input and output, two channels of balanced analog TRS outputs, and a headphone output. The front panel features a logically arranged matrix of illuminated buttons for all of these inputs and outputs which serves as its digital patchbay. All of the routing is accomplished with a dedicated button, as opposed to an inefficient LCD display with menus and sub-menus. The Integrator plug-in enables you to take full advantage of audio hardware with digital outputs in your DAW software. When your hardware is connected to the Digital Konnekt x32's digital I/O, Integrator allows you to drop them into any track, send, or master channel on your DAW as a VST or AU plug-in. Integrator will calibrate and display the sample-accurate round-trip latency of the signal chain so your DAW can properly compensate. With its latency-free integration of your digital hardware and enough inputs and outputs to tie together and route an expansive array of gear, the Digital Konnekt x32 is a uniquely powerful solution for advanced digital audio systems.
