Description 1970 Marshall JMP Super Bass 100w.This particular amplifier has just come back from Marshall themselves, having been recovered completely on the external box.Marshall are one of the most iconic brands in the music industry, built to the highest quality and becoming extremely collectable in the modern market.There are too many notable users to list!Had this been a year earlier, this amplifier would be double this price due to the 'plexi' collectable. This has the exact sound of the plexi, at less than half the price! The mullard caps, metal panel, point to point wiring and most importantly, the chassis' label, all date this to 1970. This is no exception to this very close post-plexi amplifier.Product Details Serial Number: 8266AWatts: 100 watts Impedance: 4, 8 or 16 ohms Power Valves: 4x EL34 Pre-Amp Valves: 3x ECC83 Power Valve Brands: 1x Mullard & 3x MazdaPre-Amp Valve Brands: 2x Brimar & 1x JJTransformers: OriginalTransformer Codes: T3556 (only visible)Voltage Selector: 110v, 220v, 240v Selector Service History We pride ourselves on the inspection, authentication, and service of each amplifier, making this ready to plug in and play. Valves all tested serviceable on this amplifier (but may need changing if you desire a matched set). 2x faulty screen grid resistors were changed, along with 2x fault bias capacitors. The bias was checked and set as best as possible with the valves included, and the amplifier was soak tested.Please note that it is the philosophy of The Music Locker to keep all amplifiers as original as possible, only changing original components when absolutely necessary. This includes valves, capacitors, transformers, potentiometers, etc. This gives the buyer the option of tailoring to their exact needs, and may mean that the amplifier is not operating at optimum performance levels. Therefore, your personal preference may differ, depending on your circumstances (i.e. collector or musician), and you may decide to service the amplifier in more depth upon receiving. This came to us completely stripped so we decided to have it recovered by Marshall themselves in Milton Keynes. As always, their job is perfect! We have kept the original handle, as pictured, but everything else on the box has been applied by Marshall.Please have a close look at the high resolution photographs below, as these form part of our description.Originality In our opinion, the important parts of this amplifier are original, with a few internal components changed.
