Considered the greatest guitar amp of all time, despite it being a bass amp. It's influential tone and sound has been used by many including personal favorites like Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and even Kurt Cobain on the Nevermind album. As far as the known history, it was bought by in Las Vegas, at Cowtown Guitars in '92, was hardly used and kept covered at my grandfathers ranch till it was traded once I discovered he had this beauty for my CJ-5 (Jeep). It's an amp that received a lot of praise from the moment it played the first chords. Alone it's has a very nice sound but the best sounds have been in combination with pedals like a univibe or a big muff. The low end on this thing is jaw dropping. This was a great amp for live shows as well as studio but recently, during a Halloween show, one of the tubes holster became a little loose and the tube showed a susceptibility to come out. I've been bashed in forums for even exposing it to said elements but this legend is meant to be played. I still played one show after and it held (the holster is a simple metal clamp).Since then, I'm a bit too wary to be putting through the band tour routine again. If it's handled aggressively, it will eventually wiggle out and anyone with tube experience knows the pain of having to replace these. Show in the picture above is the undercarriage of the tubes. Still plugs in and holds, just not the weekend warrior I need at the moment. This defect it why I'm listing this historic amp and why I believe it's priced accordingly.Best for a studio musician or someone who can work around with the metal clamp if they wish to tour.Perhaps some simple duck tape or some serious home repair will solve this but, I'm letting it go while it still performs perfectly and properly.Amp is in excellent condition with lettering still 70% eligible.Only a few blemishes really at the seems from age.Power chord is old (see pictures) but still functional. All tubes work including each of four speakers.Handle is sturdy and all screws are present. As I mentioned, there is a cover that has endured all the exposures of time (very worn) but it is available. Will ship in with the outmost care and plenty of bubble wrap.No international shipping please.4 x 10 - 10" AlNiCo speakers
