A: Yes. The violin's body, neck and fingerboard are made of 100% high strength carbon fiber. The replaceable parts like bridge, tail-piece, pegs and chin-rest are still made of wood and are replaceable.Q: How is a carbon fiber violin different?
A: Carbon fiber is stronger than steel but very light in weight. Because of the high strength/weight ratio, it is widely used for high-performance race cars, sports equipment, sailboats and aircraft. A: * The design uses a sophisticated combination of both weaved and unidirectional carbon fiber sheets to mimic the tone of the best quality spruce and maple. The body features a unique one-piece construction, i.e. top, side and back are made of one piece, not glued together, producing the best sound resonance and projection. * We use only pre-preg carbon fiber sheets to produces the best strength/weight ratio. * We use computer aided 3D design and drafting in making every part of the violin, every violin is made with the same quality and precise measurement.
Q: What does it sound like?
A: Clear, rich and resonant. The treble rings with crystalline clarity and the bass sounds warm without being muddy. Although it stands out clearly in live performances because of the loud volume, in recordings you can barely tell the difference from a fine wood violin. Q: Does it play like a normal violin?
A: Yes. The neck and body specifications are designed as close as possible to a standard 4/4 violin.Q: What finishes are available?
A: The finish is polyurethane. Both matt and high gloss finishes are available. Both are transparent.Q: Which parts of the violin are replaceable?
