For sale is a beautiful Japanese made Strat by Tokai. This model, the AST-56', was part of Tokai's excellent Vintage Series of the 80's and is a very detail oriented reissue of a 50's Strat. It features a soft-V shaped neck that fits in hand well and is easy to play while still having something to grab onto. This guitar has the original Tokai grey bottomed CAR (California Accurate Reproduction) pickups, that have fantastic vintage voicing and that classic Stratocaster pluck and bell like clarity. This guitar weighs in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and is incredibly well balanced. Cosmetically this instrument is in good to very good condition. There are dings and scratches across the body top and back but all very minimal. The fretboard has wear through the first fifth frets and there is a lot of fret life left as well. Included with this guitar is a nice tweed hardshell case in good condition as well. You'd be hard pressed to find a more faithfully created and better playing 50's style Strat outside of the real deal, even then this guitar might play better than the original.
