Handcrafted by Pierre ,from genuine Honduran mahogany  and Brazilian rosewood to 1959 specs from "Bartletts " plans version II, the width is  1" 11/16 at the nut  it is medium chunky , the binding is "Royalite" from "Bartletts parts" the aged inlaysare nitro cellulose period correct and hand cut ,they  have had their corners slightly rounded to simulate  shrinkage ,the side dots are from genuine "faux" tortoise shell from the 50's ,they are as thick as the binding which I left a little "fat " in the event that you might want to take it down some more ,the truss rod is also period correct hand handcrafted ,the holly veneer and the headstock "wings" are glued using hot hide glue ,so is the truss rod filler strip. the "nibbed" fret end are cut by hand ,this low profile fretboard will provide you with extra low action,the board is made from a solid rough blank as the neck itself ,no laser cutting here ,no CNC , just many many hours of hand work ,the fretwoard shows traces of the hand tooling it is not perfect ,just like the real ones were ,chatter marks from the blade  etc..but it has all the character of the "Kalamazoo " era. the thickness is almost exactly to the plans ,just a hair over for your final touch if you fell it needs to be taken down a little.
