In commemoration of their 120th Anniversary, the Gibson 2014 Les Paul Classic combines timeless tone, feel and looks with a slew of groundbreaking features to give you a genuine Gibson Les Paul at an incredible value, with the unparalleled innovation and quality you've come to expect from Gibson for the past 120 years. The 2014 Les Paul Classic is crafted from the same ingredients that made this instrument an instant classic, solid mahogany topped with maple, with updates for the enhanced tone, comfort and even looks. The mahogany back employs the Gibson traditional weight relief rout to provide you with incredible resonance and a slight reduction in the weight of the notoriously heavy solid Les Pauls while the carved figured maple top caters to the traditional and elegant aesthetics of those first “Bursts”. The glued-in mahogany neck is carved into the slim '60s profile and features a bound rosewood fingerboard with 22 undercut, cryogenic-treated frets made to withstand corrosion for a much longer fret life. The fingerboard also carries traditional trapezoid inlays with a commemorative 120th anniversary inlay at the 12th fret.The 2014 Les Paul Classic sports a set of upgraded zebra-coil Gibson '57 humbuckers; a '57 Classic in the neck complemented by a scorching hot Super '57 in the bridge for that Gibson-fueled vintage tone with endless sonic possibilities imparted by the cutting-edge electronics. Both pickups are routed through a 3-way pickup selector, a master tone control (equipped with an Orange Drop tone cap) and independent push-pull volume controls with coil-splitting capabilities – all of which contribute to the Les Paul Classic's expansive tonal range. For a little extra “umph” at the flip of a switch, the 2014 Les Paul Classic also comes fully loaded with an onboard mini-toggle for an instant 15dB boost.The 2014 Les Paul Classic features chrome hardware including vintage TonePros tuning machines for impeccable tuning stability with a traditional pairing of a Tune-O-Matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece for the ultimate sustain and resonance.
