ALSO, IT APPEARS THIS HAS WHAT IS KNOWN AS A SHORT TENON IN THE GIBSON VERNACULAR
I think that you should double check that guitar because I think that it could be bad dated. The logo is clearly a 60s logo with the open B and open O.
It seems also that the overlay of the headstock is not plastic, it´s wood, I can see this because it has a chip in the headstock below the G of Gibson word and it´s not the black fiber board of the 70s, it looks like wood underneath the finish.
There is no volute also, but this might be due to the neck break repair...This facts + being a 3 piece neck I think that would date the guitar in mid to late 69, and not 78.The color is not original because it´s not the shape of the gibson sunburst, and I think that in the moment of the headstock repair they refinished the whole guitar and added the nashville type bridge instead of the ABR.I think that looking to the neck joint inside the neck pickup route should be a determining test. If you can´t see the joint it might be a late 70s, but if it has a transitional neck tenon, I would be right and it would be a 69.I hope that this helps you, I love this old Gibsons. Maybe you want to end the auction until you clarify this because you would get more money for it if it´s a 69.
If you don´t mind I would love to hear back from you and know If I was right.
