Sorry to use this cliche but I really don't want to see this one go, but if one must, it will be this one.I built this to replace a Muddy Waters I sold. It is based on that and a Wildwood 61 relic. I used all brand new Fender parts except for the brass saddles(off my previous MWs), the Vintage Strat string tree, AllParts lisenced neck, the witch hat knobs, and I can't remember if the 3ply pickgaurd was Fender or AllParts. All components have been aged by me except the old Fender string tree. The guitar consists of a new Fender MIM Muddy Waters Ash body, AllParts rosewood medium C 9.5 heel adjust neck .860 at 1st and .955 at 12th with .047H x .093W frets, bone nut, deluxe Kluson tuners w/ white plastic buttons, off brand Fender Custom Telecaster water slide, Fender neck plate, screws, strap buttons, Jack cup, bridge, control plate, 62 bridge pickup, vintage original neck pickup, saddles, string ferrules, and Pure Nickel 10-46 strings. The switch tip is NOS Bakelite or Daka-Ware(can't remember), the controls are 66 style wiring 3 way SwitchCraft, CTS pots, Russian PIO cap, push back cloth, and Switch Craft jack.I stripped the poly finish off the new body, leaving it alone in the cavities, I guess to help show it was a Muddy if ever need be, in the pics you will see I used no grain filler on purpose to help with its old look and I hate hiding wood. The paint is StewMac nitro over rustoleum on the body hand rubbed with only 3M compound(skipping a few normal pro steps)after wet sanding to 1500 with a dirty sock to give a dull aged finish. The neck has MinWax stain under the Lacquer with the same skipped steps polish job. I have played this guitar very little in the year since building it. I quickly moved on to building 3 others more elaborate. It sounds real nice but I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't benifit from a better bridge pickup. I just never got around to it. The neck pup is awesome. The bridge is good. No case, but I'll pack it safe. I think it's priced to sell. I figured minus my labor I was saving over 3k making my own. Now you can save too.
