1927 Gibson L1 Robert Johnson
Estimated price for orientation: 10 000 $
Category: Acoustic Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Gibson String Configuration: 6 String Dexterity: Right-Handed Country/Region of Manufacture: United States
This 1927 Gibson L1 is an absolutely exceptional piece. At some point in the instruments life, an artist named Jose Perena painted the guitar as a tribute to the late great blues master Robert Johnson. He even painted the now famous portrait photograph of Mr. Johnson sitting in a chair and posing with his very own 1927 Gibson L-1. The guitar appears to have had some repairs made to it over it's lifetime, however no modifications have been made to any of the guitars original materials. The guitar is structurally sound and sounds fantastic. After closer examination we have traced the FON number on this old Gibson as being the very 1st L-1 to come off the production line in 1927. This is a real museum piece and is in nice playable condition. This would be any collectors headlining show piece. A real treasure pulled from the history of American Blues Music.
