This is a Yamaha YHR 662 Double French Horn (serial number 000483). This horn plays very well. It is made from yellow brass with nickel silver accents and a nickel silver leadpipe. The leadpipe has been fitted with an Amado water key. The valves move well with good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are some small pings, as well as some scratching throughout the horn. The bell tail is also rippled from having small dings removed. All this is visible in the pictures, and none of it affects the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This instrument comes with its original somewhat worn hardshell case and a mouthpiece in good condition.How the horn plays: Light, bright and warm sound. Very clear and smooth tone. The horn is very responsive and quick. The horn is open and free-blowing. The horn has a good dynamic range and its low and high registers speak well. The Bb and F side timbres match well, with the Bb side being just a bit brighter. This is a very nice playing horn. All horns are located at Silver & Brass Music Shop710 N.
