Burns Brian May Red Special in GREEN Manufactured Around 2004Brand New, Mint Condition, Never Played, Original Film Still On Pickguard
Professionally Set Up (Action, Pickup Height, Intonation) With Optima Gold StringsIncludes Burns USA Signature Hard Case This is a beautiful example of one of the last Burns Brian May Red Specials in GREEN to be made in around 2004 before the production moved to Brian May Guitars. This guitar features the Burns logo on the headstock and the Burns of London Deluxe tremolo.The pickups are the classic Burns Tri-Sonic.The tuning machines are Grover locking and string gripping. The string when threaded into the tuning machine post is then gripped when the tuning machine is turned so that there is no need to wrap the string around the post.This is a particularly nice example with some really wonderful wood grain and finish in clear deep green. The guitar has never been played and comes complete with original plastic protection on the pickguard and pickups. Somewhere along the line the original certificate has been lost with manuals, however copies of the manuals are included.
The guitar has been professionally set up for intonation, action and pickup height with Optima Gold Strings, as used by Brian May.Included is a brand new original Burns USA Signature hard case.These were only ever available in the USA. In the UK the hard cases are guitar shape so when stood up they have a tendency to fall over. The Burns USA rectangular case is much more of a professional style and standard which makes for better storage, transportation and gigging.There is a slight manufacturing defect in the lacquer by the 12th fret inlay (see photo) which could be easily polished out. There are also 3 very small nicks on the edge of the headstock by the B and top E tuning machines, which again were here from new, probably originating when the original strings were put on. I've tried to show these on the photos, but they are very small and hard to see.The Burns models are becoming quite collectable and in new, mint condition green are exceptionally rare. The Burns Signature hard case makes this a particularly rare item.
