This is an official Ludwig B-stock snare, and as such it displays the "Blue & Olive" badge (not the keystone badge, which is reserved for A-stock snares).
The Ludwig Black Beauty snare drum is considered one of the most desirable drums ever made. The seamless, one piece brass beaded shell provides the legendary balanced metallic-yet-warm sound and ease of tuning that this classic drum is famous for, while the Supra-Phonic snares and throw-off provide the unmatched sensitivity professionals demand. The antique black anodized shell, chrome hardware, and imperial lugs make the Black Beauty strikingly beautiful. We received a number of these, but the photos displayed in this listing are of the exact drum you will receive. There are minor cosmetic flaws, mostly on the inner shell, but some of these have a bit of cloudiness or spotting on the outer shell which seems to disappear with some simple polishing. Also, some have the old P-85 throw off, while others have the newer version. Please see the photos for details of the finish flaws and throw off that's included (hold your mouse over them for a closeup view).
