Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare and unique 1920's era Ellis Electrical Laboratory model 10 carbon microphone. This was a very common design for it's time and it comes with the all chrome plated desk stand. This classic style of microphone was made by several American companies before disappearing altogether around the late 1930's. It should be noted that while this microphone has the all original carbon element...the working condition is unknown at this point. This spring mic is in very good physical condition considering it's age as seen in the pictures provided. The actual mics chrome ring is in really beautiful condition with just lite signs of wear. There are no signs of corrosion or heavy scratches on the mic itself. The mics info is still completely legible and it has all of it's original components except for the 8 springs which is very common. Most of these mics are either missing a few springs or they have been replaced completely. I would rate this mic a conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 -10. Hard to believe this mic is almost 100 years old. The mic comes with the original desk stand which is completely period to the mic and looks great. You'll notice in pic # 10 that the stand can come off if needed. It appears to be tin stamped cover with polished chrome finish. The cast iron underside is quite heavy and the cover sits flush to it. The ring with stand is a total of 10 inches in height X 6 inches wide X 4 1/4 inches deep at the base. Total weight of this mic with stand is appx 2.1 pounds
