Olivia's Vintage would like to present this original 1960 Gibson ES-355 that is a one-of-a-kind, custom built by Gibson with a 23-1/2" scale like a Byrdland, mono electronics, factory stop tail, two pickguards, custom truss rod cover, custom inlay, and a personalized plaque. Included, are some laminated pictures showing the original owner (Bernie Smith) with the guitar in 1960. There have been some changes since then. The Grover tuners, bridge, knobs, and tailpiece are vintage parts, but are a bit later than the guitar itself. A new plaque was made for the top of the body, and the original plaque is now installed on the side of the original case. There are also a few non-original screws, a few extra screw holes under the plaque, 3 extra holes under the pickguards, and there were two autographs removed from the pickguards (one from Harold Bradley and the other from B.B. King). Traces of the autographs are only visible underneath a black light. There were also two guitar decals added to the face of the headstock. It has a good playing neck with a 1-5/8" nut width. The frets are worn, but are good original frets. There are nicks + dings, finish checking, play wear, and other cosmetic wear. The guitar itself remains structurally sound with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. All electronics work and sound great with an original set of PAF pickups.
