1955 English Electronics Tonemaster AmplifierSame as Supro Super model 1606 ampMade by Supro/Valco for (Norm) English Electronics of Lansing, MiTime-capsule condition Rare to find these in all original good working order. Two inputs, off/on Volume control. Tubes are 5Y3, 6V6 and a 6SJ7.Sought after Rola 6x10 speaker. For a comparison; Vintage 47 makes repro speakers to fit these for $74. Not a super loud amp, but it gets that exemplary tube amp overdrive when you turn it up. Very nice tone, you will find this amp fun to play. Great for recording and/or small venues. Very cool looking MOTS covering in exceptional condition. It’s been stored for decades, protected by a cover.SN - X54302. A very popular type of amp. The same amp was also released with Supro branding and has the same tube compliment as a version of Magnatone, Dickerson, Oahu, Bronson, National, Airline & Gretsch amps. Showroom condition. Control panel is clean, original Rola speaker, Vintage tubes. Good caps. Amp is running smooth.Overall condition is very clean for it's age. Enjoy the sound of tubes working to their fullest at studio volumes. USA made, point to point wired vintage tube sound and quality.Norman English was an old school lap steel player who ran a music studio in Lansing, Michigan. He had a good relationship with Valco & was able to order custom instruments from them. English Electronics offered several sought after Valco made instruments. Reso-glass Guitars, Lap Steel Guitars & Amps. “Despite the name that would lead you to believe that it is a British company, "English Electronics" guitars and amps were actually made for the Norman English Studios of Lansing, Michigan.”
