A rare period Grand Piano by Julius Blüthner, manufactured 1868, Leipzig, Germany. 85 keys, natural key covers, glossy French polished rosewood case, 210 cm long and straight strung. Elegant curved body, and antique-vase-shaped octagonal legs. Amazingly, the piano was preserved like in an egshell for 150 years, has been always kept at the same place in a rich Cologne family. She was played very little all its life. The process restoration took us six months. The fully original Blüthner patent action has been very thoroughly regulated and voiced. It plays very light and fast. The piano has an extremely wide range of dynamics and colors and allows finest nuances, keeping her voluminous sound even in the ppp. This Blüthner is really one of the most beautiful pianos we ever came across. Blüthner was one of the preferred marks of Franz Liszt, Johannes Brahms, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky, Johann Strauss, Debussy, many Pop musicians (Beatles) and the famous Abbey Road Studio.
