IF ANY ISSUES ARISE PLEASE CONTACT US VIA EBAY MESSAGING BEFORE OPENING A CASE THROUGH THE RESOLUTION CENTER. WE ARE 100% CONFIDENT THAT WE CAN RESOLVE ANY ISSUE.All of the proceeding info was verified by Tom himself. After forwarding photos of these to him, we had a conversation where he confirmed that these are definitely a pair of his rarest pickups. He answered the phone with "where in the heck did you find these?”
Circa '77-'78, these were the second incarnation in the evolution of the Tom Holmes brand, between his original triple coil design and the current PAF style.
The dual adjustable pole neck pickup is one of less than 20 produced, of which a couple were made for Muddy Watters and 5 that went into Toms custom single pickup Strats that he built for Billy Gibbons, one of which was used to record "Lowdown In The Street" from the '79 Deguello album. According to Tom, this was a period when he was focussing on custom pickups (DiMarzio parts and "anything else he could get his hands on") for his custom guitar builds, but over time, realized that everyone wanted the PAF tone. Nothing more, nothing less. It was then that he developed his PAF version and shifted to full time pickup production...the rest is history.
The other pickup with the single row of adjustable poles is so rare that he doesn't even remember building it, though he's certain that he did and that it's of the same '77-'78 time period as the Gibbons unit. He's also pretty certain that's it's a one off, not another made.
He built a custom archtop Flying V for the previous owner but does not recall if these were the pickups that were part of the build. Original owner is an accomplished, recently retired Nashville player who purchased these from Tom in the 70's while working at Richard Cotten Music, through which Tom originally sold his wares. These were his main go to pickups for the past 40 years.

Check your options for USPS shipping via the shipping tab. All items are properly packaged with bubble wrap and peanuts or paper. Tracking info will be available through the listing along with an automatically generated email that you will receive from eBay. That tracking info can be sketchy at best sometimes and is completely out of my hands, but you can't beat the 2-3 day turn around time for most of my items. That doesn't mean 2-3 days to get it out my door, rather TO YOUR door. Check my feedback and you'll notice the prevailing comment is something along the lines of "wow...that was quick!" Pay for Parcel Select(cheapest) and it will likely go out Priority instead:)
ALL ITEMS SHIP WITHIN 1 BUSINESS DAY...OFTEN SAME DAY IF PURCHASED BEFORE 12PM ARIZONA TIMECHECK OUT my store for more pedalsFULL REFUND on non-working and/or "not as described" items. NO REFUNDS on working and/or "as described" items. I will NOTrefund for a properly functioning item. "Not the sound I was looking for" or "Don't want it anymore" are not sufficient reasons for a return. All items are tested and, unless noted, are sent out in 100% working condition. Occasionally, a problem will arise that can be easily resolved by contacting me...bad/wrong power supply, dead battery/cable, using it wrong etc etc. If a problem should occur, contact me within the 14 day time frame mandated by eBay. 14 days is more than adequate, 30 is ridiculous and I will not be held responsible for providing a refund. Remember, these are used electronics, so buy accordingly. I've sold well over 2,000 used pedals here on eBay and can count on one hand the number of units that have been returned with actual problems. If I do screw up and send out a faulty pedal, I have no problem refunding you your original purchase price, shipping AND your return shipping. No reason my ignorance should cost you a dime. Likewise, your ignorance should not be at my expense, therefore no shipping charges will be refunded. AREN'TCHA GLAD YOU READ ALL OF THIS
International Buyers ? Please Note:I WILL NOT claim a lower item value for customs purposes so...DON'T ASK!!!!!!
Import duties, taxes, and charges are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding or buying.
