The MD-815V is one model down from the very top of Eastman's line. Listing new at $2,100, and featuring top shelf features like an Oil Varnish finish, hand carved all solid Flamed maple and adirondack spruce top with Ebony appointments, this is as good as can be had short of spending $4,000+ . It was traded in by a gentleman who had just bought it new towards a Collings Mandolin. It is mint condition.Here is more description from EastmanThe 800 series mandolins are handcarved from solid select adirondack spruce with highly flamed maple backs and sides with full ivoroid bindings. Features include - ebony fingerboard, adjustable bridge, gold plated Schaller tuners with mother-of- pearl buttons and are finished in classic sunburst finishes In the style of Lloyd Loar mandolins of the 1920's, MD815V mandolins feature Adirondack spruce tops and hand applied oil varnish.
