Up for auction is a very original 1935 National Duolian. It's a square neck, fourteen fret, slot head, with a beautiful grey-green Duco finish. Everything's original except the the saddle portion of the biscuit. It shows honest play wear, but retains 95% of its beautiful finish. This is serial number C9695, which means there were only five more slot head Duolians made after this one before National went to the solid peg head. The Duolian is known for its distinctive sound, but the raised string height of a square neck is even more powerful. Also, there's a dramatic volume increase with the resonator pointed at your face instead of away from you. It's setup with Elixir Resonator .016 - .056 strings, and is a real note cannon.
