This is an extremely fine Yamaha Maple Custom 14x12 hanging floor tom drum in the rare hard to find Vintage Natural finish. Yamaha Maple customs in the Vintage Natural finish have a richer sound than the other finishes, are seldom seen for sale and are highly sought after. It is in excellent overall condition.
The Japanese-made Maple Custom series was Yamaha's flagship line until the introduction of the PHX series. Yamaha has since discontinued the Maple Custom line. It was last listed in their 2008 catalog. This drum should not be confused with their later Maple Custom Absolute series, or the current Chinese-made Absolute Hybrid Maple series. This is the original, thick shell Maple Customs. It is one of the most recorded drum sets in the world and still in demand.This used drum is in excellent near-mint condition. Shell and hardware are in excellent condition. Gold lugs have no peeling or flaking issues. The Vintage Natural finish is beautiful and has darkened slightly with age, as it is designed to do. Bearing edges are flawless. The drum has a coated Remo Ambassador head on top and a clear Yamaha/Remo head on bottom. The rims are 3.0 power hoops. The drum has Yamaha's YESS mounting system. This drum sounds as good as it looks - change out the heads if you prefer different ones and tune it to your liking!I accept PayPal only.
