When I found this it looked bad. I cleaned it without disassembly, using Q-tips, cotton balls and a polish rag, because it played so well. The body of this Sax is in very good shape. Some light dents on the bow. The pads are in good shape. Three were replaced. The rest play great. It has new cork on the neck. Buescher True Tones were the Pro Sax of the Day in the 1920's and 30's. They still have a great tone to them, they just don't have all the alternate keys that professionals use today. This one has been well maintained. I don't know if Buescher sold Saxophones without lacquer or not. This one is unlacquered. That's how I bought it.  After cleaning I use Renaissance Wax on it. It will help keep it from tarnishing. The UK uses Renaissance Wax in their Museums to preserve their metal items. Just apply it with cotton polishing gloves, every so often. I will include a Selmer C* mouthpiece that plays good and an antique neck strap and music lair. You may have your own favorite mouthpiece. This sax is READY TO PLAY right out of the case. Watch the video on youtube. What a beautiful tone. This is my Music instructor playing it. This sax has been serviced and repaired well over its 91 year life. I hope I am doing as well at 91. LOL The Buescher Saxophone Company was one of the biggest and best known in the US. It also made Saxophones for many other well known companies including Selmer. In the early 60's, Selmer bought them out. The Buescher True Tone line of Saxophones were truly the Professional Grade Saxophone of 1920-1950's.  When Selmer bought them out in the 60's they became a second line to the Selmer Sax. youtube.com/watch?v=kTi3lJ_KNw8
