Description Product Description Color: Tranquility Blue Burst A Celebration of the Generation that Launched the Les Paul As a stunning tribute to the decade that made the Les Paul the biggest voice in rock, the new Les Paul Peace is a fitting member of Gibson’s 120th Anniversary celebration. By capturing everything that has made the Les Paul a classic since the 1950s, dressing it in commemorative sixties styling, and updating it with a selection of great new features for 2014, this is a superbly versatile and great-looking Les Paul for player and collector alike—and offers outstanding value for a hand-made-in-America electric guitar. Central to the Les Paul Peace are its “Peace” engraved stopbar tailpiece with peace-sign studs, tie-dye knobs, and custom hemp-covered hardshell case with peace symbol and tie-dye interior. A pair of Gibson’s new ’61 pickups contribute authentic PAF-style tone, while a factory-loaded Min-ETune automatic tuning system brings performance racing right into the 21st century. Tranquility Blue Burst View larger 2014 Available Finishes View larger Body and neck The Les Paul Peace is crafted in a faithful image of the original Les Paul Standard. It’s made from a solid mahogany back with traditional weight relief for a lighter strapped-on feel, with a carved AA figured maple top. The glued-in mahogany neck with a slim ’60s profile features a bound rosewood fingerboard topped with a TekToid nut, and carries 22 cryogenically treated frets for long life and corrosion resistance. Traditional trapezoid inlays and a commemorative 120th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret complete the striking look. Pickups and electronics The guitar carries a pair of Gibson’s great new ’61 Humbuckers with chrome covers, wound with unbalanced coils for that traditional PAF-style edge and depth. They have independent volume and tone controls with Orange Drop capacitors, and a three-way selector switch. Hardware The inclusion of Min-ETune automatic tuners, which also work manually, makes the Les Paul Peace an unparalleled performance tool. Simply activate the system and strum to retune your guitar within seconds, or to change to any one of 12 factory preset tunings or 6 user presets. A chrome Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece engraved “Peace” with peace-sign studs anchor it all down for outstanding resonance and sustain, while enlarged strap buttons (new for 2014) keep your guitar secure throughout the set. Custom tie-die knobs are joined by a vintage-cream pickguard, binding, and pickup mounting rings. Protective case The Les Paul Peace 2014 comes protected in a custom hemp-covered hardshell case with peace-sign graphic and tie-dye lining and includes a truss-rod wrench and owner’s manual.
