I am selling my 1931 C.G. Conn 6m transitional alto saxophone with an art deco engraving on the bell. Serial number is #M246XXX. This sax is in fantastic condition and plays great. There are no dings or dents and no past repairs or resolders. The neck is perfect and shows no sign of pull down. This sax recently had a full repad with premium leather pads with brown plastic resonators. All the pads are sealing and she plays great. The action is great, just what you would expect from a 6m and to my ears has a bigger, more soulful sound similar to a chu alto. While in my opinion this sax is playing great, it is possible you will want minor adjustments made to your liking when you get her. This is definitely an interesting transitional horn showing some features of the chu and some of the 6m. The horn has a left hand pinky table like a chu berry. However it has the swiveling thumb rest as the early 6Ms had. Also features double socket neck with working micro tuner and rolled tone holes. I would guess this is an old relaquer, probably done at least 50 years ago as the horn still shows normal wear on the touch points. This is an amazing horn, highly sought after and in amazing condition for its' age. She plays great and is also awesome from a collector's perspective. Ships in a nice and brand new protect gig bag. The sax will be packed well and shipped with insurance. Please message me with any questions. Thanks!
