Features 100% American made in Memphis TN Laminated Maple/Poplar/Maple top with F-holes Pick-ups are the Super '57 pick-up in the bridge and eh '57 Classic pick-up in the neck, along with the Tone Pros AVR2 Bridge Orange Drop Capacitors, Soft Edge Body contour with CTS Pots and Tone-Pro Long Anchor and Tailpiece Stud Description Product Description A Versatile Compact “Semi” at an Unprecedented Price Gibson’s ES-339 found an immediate place in the hearts and hands of guitarists who worshiped the classic ES-335 look, feel and tone, but needed that time-tested versatility in a more compact package. The ES-339 Studio from Gibson Memphis nails all the benefits of its predecessors but with the popular Studio styling, for a no-compromises tone machine offering 100% American-made quality at an unbeatable price. A compact redesign of the elegant ES-335 lines, genuine Gibson humbucking pickups, top quality TonePros and Grover hardware, and the popular stripped-down Studio Series ethos make this guitar an unbeatable value, but a full-bore performer by any standards. Available in your choice of Ebony or Vintage Sunburst finish, in hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer, naturally. Body and neck Crafted just like a scaled-down rendition of the original ES-335, introduced in 1958, the ES-339 Studio has a body made from laminated maple with an arched top, two f-holes, and a solid maple core for enhanced clarity and sustain. Its stripped-down Studio ethos is revealed in a lack of binding and pickguard, with a comfort-enhancing “soft edge” body contour. A glued-in neck carries an unbound baked maple fingerboard with elegant dot inlays, and a simplified headstock with gold Gibson logo. Pickups and electronics Two genuine Gibson humbucking pickups translate timeless PAF-like tone, with warmth and depth from a 57 Classic in the neck position and more crunch and sting from a Super 57 in the bridge. They are routed through a single master volume and tone control, with quality CTS pots, an Orange Drop tone cap, and three-way selector switch. Hardware Top-quality hardware includes genuine Grover Rotomatic tuners, and TonePros AVR2 bridge and long-anchor tailpiece studs for optimum resonance and sustain. Protective case The ES-339 Studio comes protected in a Gibson hardshell case. About Gibson Memphis Now in 2014, Gibson Memphis takes up the reins of an iconic lineup of both new and historic models, crafting better guitars than ever before. Thanks to a thorough revamp of every step of the process, grounded in a close re-examination of several original vintage instruments, Gibson Memphis guitars for 2014 stunningly nail the look, feel and sound of the most prized ES models, while also adding to the vocabulary with new and modified designs.
