Walberg and Auge Drum Set. Fully restored to 'Perfection' by W&A's premier restorer, Anthony Defusco from Village Drum and Music, North Scituate RI.This set was made with 1970s W&A 'orphan' drums. All the components have been completely gone through.Bearing edges re-touched for truenessAll extra holes were plugged (with wood, not fillers)Shell interiors painted black (just like the old days of W&A drums built by George Bernard (1905-1950s) and Jacob Tharpe (mid-late 1970s) Wrapped in Champagne Sparke and decorated with new W&A badges. (snare stand for tom not included)Historical Info: I was able to confirm... the bass drum on this kit came from the very last drum set made by W&A. It was originally built by Jacob Tharpe in 1979 for drummer Louie Santoro of the Worcester MA based band 'August'. (see last pic) It was a double bass drum set in white. I received both bass drums from the Louie's brother. (Unfortunately he didn't have the rest of the set. This is the last one.). The tom and floor tom came from other W&A sets from the 1970s. It appears Jacob Tharpe was the original builder as well.Specs:14 x 24 Bass Drum 8 ply Gretsch Jasper shell, Rogers lugs, W&A hoops, W&A T-Rods and Claws. Gibraltar bass drum spurs.
