New English Double Pipe in D. Made from UK sourced wild cherry with faux ivory mounts and hand stitched bag.Cylindrical bore with single reeds. It can be played like single chanter pipe with half covered fingerings. This gives you two drones, the chanter tonic and the drone one octave below.The pipe comes into its own when playing chords, being full and rich. The chord patterns are intuitive helped by the drone leading you back to the tonic.The right hand (low) chanter plays from C4 to A4 with and F#. The left hand (high) chanter has D4 with all the holes covered then jumps to A4 ascending to D5I have used this model of pipe with low D flemish/Breughel pipes, both sounding at the same pitch, and it holds its own well.Pictures and a sound clip can be found at Please contact me with any questionsAvailable to try in London or Bedford appointment.
