For sale: a special 2006 Paulino Bernabe Senior 'Imperial' classical guitar.Features an aged European spruce top with flamed maple back and sides, French polished throughout, and 650mm scale. The sides are doubled and have his modified fan bracing. Bernabe's signature is found on the underside of the bridge plate, a signed and stamped ('PB') label, and PB stamp on the heel. Excellent volume with nice sustain, clear and even separation of voices, and a 'creamy', shimmering, and 'airy' quality of sound that only a good maple can produce. No cracks or repairs. Conservatively, its in very good condition and well taken care of. She's opened up and ready to impress. Easy action and plays comfortably. The photograph that best represents the actual golden maple colour is of the close-up on the back heel. I purchased the guitar from Jeff Young (in 2010), an outstanding guitarist and award winning musician. I'm including a custom fit and ordered Karura carbon fiber case ($1300 value), Colorado case cover, a few sets of Bernabe's signature strings, and bridge bone beads.
This is likely one of the last guitars Paulino Bernabe senior completed before his passing in 2007. He only built the 'Royal' and 'Imperial' models in limited quantity. His son, Paulino Jr, has taken over the workshop since 2007.Please ask all questions prior to purchase. Buyer is responsible for any and all import duty taxes.
