Here's for sale, the DEAN SOLTERO USA prototype n°1, as seen at the 2006 NAMM show (Austin) . This one differs from the eventual commercial one in some key areas and these I will list now. First and most importantly, the guitar body is solid mahogany, no chambers, no maple top and weighs in at a colossal 11lbs (4.8kg). The mahogany (fabulous V profile Dean) neck and ebony fret board do a manful job of perfectly balancing the guitar. Seymour Duncan pickups 59 and JB, give to this guitar the tone for miles, so much depth, huge mid range growl and screaming leads. The guitar is signed and verified on headstock completed with C.O.A. It was so newly introduced at the time it did not yet bear the ‘Soltero’ badge…just the famous wings. This guitar is just incredibly cool, having a massive presence and vibe and seems like Dean Zelinsky signed off the Soltero range with this rare moody guitar. Here is the undisputed No 1 Soltero Prototype and this MUST rise in value.
