Look what just landed on my front door folks! Here is an exceptionally rare 1962 Maton Supreme Electric 777 in fine condition and only 400 were ever made!Maton guitars have cult status from the 1960's: George Harrison played a Maton which sold at auction for £300,000 not so long back. And most famously, Keith Richards used a Maton Supreme Electric 777 through the Let It Bleed sessions and recorded the classic Gimme Shelter on this very guitar. The 777 is all original apart from one tone knob has been replaced with something which looks similar, you can see that from the photos. Original factory original bigsby works great and give it that classic Gretsch sound. Like a Gretsch, the 777 is completely hollow. The toaster style pickups are original and sound absolutely amazing, you will be blown away by what the 777 can do. If you roll off the tone 10% you've got a Gibson 335, ideal for Muddy Water's licks. The bridge pickup give you that Gretsch Chet Atkins/Country Gentleman tone and even stretches to surf tone with the use of the Bigsby. Crack it up and you've got Keef tone right there! Seriously, this 777 is amazing.I believe this comes with its original case (I'll be getting this in a few days). But I don't exactly know what original cases for Maton's look like (does anyone?), so at the moment I'm assuming the case is its original. I'll update this information once I have it.The serial number is 1858 which dates it to1962, all electrics work great without any bad sounds. The nut is the original and shows a little wear, hence the chip in the finish close to the nut. Beautiful thin nitro finish throughout showing stunning weather checking. The frets are in great shape. Scroll down to see over 40 HD photos. Hard to put a value on this one so it's ideal for a no reserve auction. Enjoy!I will post worldwide, buyer payers everything fully insured. The pound is weak so its a good time for Europe and America to buy from the UK.Please ask for an accurate shipping cost. I generally only use FedEx or TNT. Cash on collection, personal cheque or bank transfer are my preferred payment options. If you have any questions please drop me a message if you require additional information or photographs.
