Unique Wacona tenor banjo by Eli Blanchette, ~ 1930, 10 3/4 inch head size. Model name `ELICO` on peaghead. Less than ten of Wacona banjos were made. Excellent workmanship, appears to be build by Bacon & Day. Near mint condition, all original, metal pot and unique tone system, ebony fretboard with nice pearl inlays. Neck, peghead front and back tasteful pearl pyralin. 24 brackets, Grover pegs and Waverly tailpiece, very special clear sound, suitable also for collectors, original hard case.
