Up for sale, a 2014 Squier Jagmaster electric guitar, custom built by a Seattle luthier as a tribute to the rare Squier Vista Series Jagmaster only built in Japan from '96-'98. While there were a few iterations in the short time it was produced, this particular tribute represents a sort of "better than the original" feature set, including a classic Fender 25.5" scale length vs the original 24", a maple fretboard, and an alder body where the originals were an inexpensive basswood. Weighing in at 8lbs 6oz, this guitar has a percussive midrange presence and healthy natural sustain that translates well through the Seymour Duncan pickups, which are an SH-2N Jazz in the neck, and an SH-4 JB in the bridge. The neck was originally a Jazzmaster-style neck (Fender in origin, but exact specs unknown) which boasts a quintessential medium C neck profile with healthy shoulders and a bit of roundness while not reaching "baseball bat" status. The maple fretboard features a modern Fender 9.5" fretboard radius and 21 medium jumbo frets that show sparingly little fret wear. The headstock sports an aged Candy Apple Red finish, Squier decal, string tree, and a set of Kluson Vintage locking tuners that turn smoothly and hold pitch well. The body bears a vibrant Candy Apple Red poly finish, black appointments, and Strat style Wilkinson tremolo system. Electronically, in addition to the simple three-way pickup selector, both pickups feature a push/push coil tap switch, concealed beneath each pickup's respective volume knob. The text on the bridge pickups volume knob reads "Tone", although there is actually no tone pot, only dual volumes. Cosmetically, this guitar is in very good shape, and aside from a handful of stray, very faint scratches/dings there is no play wear worth noting. As a custom one-off build, there are a couple finish inconsistencies including a darker shade of Candy Apple (and a more matte appearance) on the headstock, as well as a very lightly textured feel to the body finish in spots. Of course this does not affect playability in the slightest, and the guitar is a unique and fitting tribute to the original Vista Series Jagmaster.
A hardshell case is included.
