This is a genuine 1979 vintage Music Man Pre-Ernie Ball Stingray bass body. It has been professionally restored by Pat Wilkins, who is arguably the best guitar finisher in the business. When I first got this body, it had been stripped, converted to a 4-bolt neck and had a standard Fender bridge on it. It was restored to the era-correct 3-Tone sunburst finish and, given the scarcity of original pre-EB bridges (specifically the 1979 one with the offset string-through holes), I had the original bridge & string ferrule holes doweled and filled along with the neck screw holes. Now you (the new owner) can decide if you want to restore it back to the original condition (3-Bolt Neck, string-thru-body, original bridge) or use the bass with aftermarket parts that are easier to find (my plans were to use a Leo Quan Badass style bridge to cover all the additional holes and a Status Graphite neck to make it into a MM Cutlass style bass). The body also had a homemade battery box cover plate; I unfortunately forgot to tell Pat to fill those in too, but a new EBMM battery cover has been installed.This body is in Excellent Condition; it has not been used since the restoration and has just a few scratches on the body edges from moving and storage.
