Arnold Hoyer Solist - Archtop Guitar / circa 1950 approx It’s with a very heavy heart I am putting this absolutely stunning guitar up for sale. I have never seen another in this condition and in stunning black, one of the best looking and sounding guitars ever made in my opinion and most certainly a collector’s item.I have had her for about 5 years and have treated her like my baby but I am a gypsy jazz guitarist hence all my practice has to be dedicated to playing on a maccaferri style guitar, so unfortunately the Hoyer has just been an ornament for far too long and feel she deserves a good home where she will get played more. Specs:Full size arch top body with Venetian cutaway, hand carved German solid spruce top, solid maple back and sides, extremely rare version in black gloss finish. Celluloid bindings. Slim D-shaped maple neck with adjustable trusrod. Ebony fret board with 21 frets plus zero fret and mother of pearl inlays. Special designed ebony bridge with thumb wheel height adjustment and separate metal rollers for each string to compensate the scale length. Stunning Art Deco style tail piece.Overall length = 42.5" (108cm), Scale 24.8" (63cm), Neck width = 42 mm at the nut and 52 mm at the 12th fret. The body is 16.35" (41.5cm) wide, 20.25" (51.5cm) long and 3.35" (8.5cm) deep. The neck is extremely straight and the fret board was shaved and levelled a couple of years ago so the action can go extremely low if desired, I have her set up to approx  3mm at the 12th fret. Unfortunately during the levelling of the fret board the top mother of pearl inlay was cracked, my Luthier put it back together as best he could as I wanted to keep the original piece, does not effect playing at all.The sound is superb as you would imagine, both acoustically and amplified with the Attila Zoller Shadow neck pick up.Her overall condition is very good indeed, especially considering she is around 60 years old. Just a few scrapes here and there (could probably be polished out) and sum scuffs under the bridge. The tuners were replaced before my time but seem totally fine, there is a an old hairline crack running down the back of the headstock, i had this checked out by my Luthier who clamped and glued it to make sure it was okay, its completely solid just cosmetic.Strung up with new Argentine 1610MF nickel stringsNo case as yet but will pick one up to send her out inAny questions please get in touchPick up and try out welcomeI really want her to go to a good homenote**  not that you would want to but no returns unless its a local pick up, don't really want it posted back and forth
