Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a stupid rare 1st year 1993 Gibson Historic Collection Les Paul Custom s/n 3 5350, with the basically 1 year only Super 400 Historic Collection decal on the back. I am NOT reducing the price anymore as the next cheapest one I can find is 1000.00 more, and this is a KILLER example!!!This is a 1 owner uncirculated guitar that weights 8 lbs 15oz lbs on my digital postal scale, which is VERY VERY light for a Custom from any era, and the guitar balances perfectly and comfortably sitting or with a strap. The laser straight neck is a dead ringer for a 59 profile neck, it is not like some of the later 57 reissue Black Beautys or Gold Tops that have ridiculous baseball bat necks. This guitar sounds and plays amazing. It is in EXC + condition. It was played but not much. The frets have never been dressed and are in like new condition. The gold plating is in excellent condition, but there are some minor marks on the pickup faces, and some fading to the pickguard bracket and the base side stop bar post, but other than that the gold is VERY nice for a 23 year old guitar. The piano black lacquer is also in beautiful condition, the face and sides of the bod and neck are near perfect, but there are some extremely light marks in the clear coat on the back, nothing deep or through the finish, and they would not show up well in the pics, it is extremely clean for a lightly played instrument. There have never been any breaks, repairs mods, or anything, it is 100% original down to every last screw, as shipped in 1993 from Gibson. The guitar rings out acoustically big time, like a GOOD vintage guitar, and plugged in the (I think 1st year for these also) PAF decal 57 Classics sound killer, better than any I have heard for that matter. All the pots date from 1993 as they should, and no solder jounts have ever been touched. It comes in its original brown/pink lined case as pictured. Please dont ask me stupid questions like where is the COA or anything like that, as they did not come with them until MUCH later!!! Gibson will be making Historics by the boatload for ever, but there is only 1 first year issue, and in the beginning of the Historic Custom Shop, there were not a lot of these made, nothing like compared to now, so here is a great chance to score an exceptional example of an extremely rare 1st year Historic Custom, at a price almost a grand less than any other available anywhere on the internet!!!!
