C-Thru-Music AXiS-64 - Rare MIDI Harmonic Table keyboard

This is a very rare "LIKE NEW" professional studio/touring quality velocity sensitive MIDI controller with a tough metal case and familiar on-board controls. These devices are made to order from the UK. So they are not available in any music store or from a dealer. They are extremely rare and expensive. They cost $2,500.00 + shipping from the UK. Brand new, they take 3 weeks to deliver. Plus a bank wire transfer to pay which costs an additional $50.
Out of production high end model. Very Hard To Find!

This is so much more than a standard midi controller. The various benefits to playing on the Harmonic Table note arrangement are enormous. Search YouTube videos on this item to learn more about it. It is all about pattern based playing, so guitar players frustrated with keyboards will be able to translate playing styles and riffs easily. There are 192 keys, so it's like buying three 64-note keyboards all in one.Hailed by Keyboard Extrodinaire "Jordan Rudess" of Dream Theater as one of the most innovative approaches to playing and creating music!MIDI controls
The AXiS-64 is a versatile MIDI master keyboard. On-board are pitch bend and mod wheels, and two rotary controls. There are sockets for two foot controls or foot switches. The AXiS can calibrate almost any external control with ease.

Although the Harmonic Table layout, designed for 12-tone equal temperament, is brilliant and easily understandable, I purchased the Axis-64 for microtonal work. The 2-dimensional layout allows non-12-scale intervals to have consistent "shapes", which makes possible a more intuitive playing experience and a much more solid learning curve (than with the regular "piano" Halberstadt layout). Like many Axis-64 users, I am primarily a guitar player, and the guitar fingerboard is also an "array" instrument, so the intriguingly "weird" hexagonal layout feels at the same time familiar. Because the Axis-64's keys can be remapped, the interval-shape (i.e. fingering) possibilities are vast, which (from a microtonal music perspective) is both challenging and exciting. It's also more solidly built than any MIDI keyboard I've ever seen, and the attention to detail in the shape, feel, and responsiveness of the keys is extraordinary. (The sky-high level of manufacturing quality really belongs to another era). Provided our society doesn't collapse or destroy itself soon, there's a lifetime's worth of potential exploration in this instrument. The story of what happened to this company and this product is quite interesting.
