This is an excellent condition 1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom in a gorgeous Wine Red finish. It is 100% original and comes with the original Gibson hardshell case. This guitar was called the 'Fretless Wonder' due to Gibson attempting to build a guitar with frets so low it was as close to fretless as possible for a faster play action. The frets are 100% original and appear to have very little to no wear on them. This is a beast of a guitar weighing in at 11lbs even according to my home scale and has the amazing tone to match. I purchased this guitar from Guitar Center's Vintage Collection and will include the original sales receipt along with the hang tag. There are a few scratches on the back (pictured) and a few fine scratches and/or dings here and there, but overall in amazing shape for being 42 years old. As you may expect the gold hardware has worn a bit, again something to be expected on a guitar this age and vintage. You will note in the picture of the back of the headstock has been sanded down. According to Guitar Center, they took this guitar in from the original owner, but he said that it was stolen around 1980 and recovered a couple years later. They believe the back of the headstock was sanded down effort to destroy the serial number. This is verified 100% to be a 1975 Les Paul as the codes on the volume pots verify they are original and produced by CTS for Gibson during the last week of December 1974. I have also called Gibson to verify this information and they told me the pot codes check out. Aside from this issue the guitar is great, sounds good and in great shape for its age. If you have any questions or offers, feel free to contact me directly at 310-402-4681. Given the issue with it, I am open to negotiation on this great guitar, within reason. If your plan is to lowball me you best just move on and not waste our time. Free shipping to the continental US only.
