The '58 Stratocaster is a marks the last year of the early years of the strat before their transition. It marks the last pre-CBS year the Maple Fretboard was solely offered. Fender also made the transition to 3-Ply Pickguards half-way through 1959 once they used up their existing stock of single ply pickguards. The Strat is a time-honored classic crafted with six decades of “Fender firsts,” it has a lightweight ash body with a comfortably deep contours, a quartersawn maple neck with a finely sculpted ’59s large “oval C” profile and Journeyman Relic finish, a 9.5” radius fingerboard with 21 narrow jumbo 6105 frets, and three Fender Custom Shop Fat '50's single-coil pickups (reverse-wound/reverse-polarity middle pickup) with modern five-way switching.   Other premium features include a single-ply eggshell pickguard, American Vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, Vintage tuners and Bone Nut. The  “Journeyman” Relic® lacquer body finishes imparts the appearance of years of aging and light use without heavy wear and tear. This finish is the classic Aged White Blonde which is transparent showing off the beautiful natural grain of the Ash. It includes a Fender Custom Shop  hard-shell case and Custom Shop certificate of authenticity. This guitar is lightweight at 7.4 lbs.
