Of all the vintage percussion I am selling at the moment I think that this may be the most rare. This is an early 1950's Slingerland Artist model Radio King concert bass drum, 34 x 16 inch, made specifically for orchestral use. It's 3 ply, has chrome large beavertail lugs claws and rods and two oval brass badges. The wrap is an evenly and lightly faded black/ charcoal pearl and has no major issues only superficial scuffs and marks. The wrap on the hoops (which are also solid) is slightly loose and could do with glueing. Both skins are more modern Remo Weatherkings. The chrome fittings have tarnish and light rust most of which should come off with a good clean. The drum is 100% solid and original and sounds incredible. No drill holes or nasty clamp damage. Please see the photos and ask any questions.Whether for the Slingerland collector, the orchestral player who appreciates the vintage sound or for the most awe inspiring drum kit bass drum (there's a clip of someone doing this with a similar size drum on youtube) this super rare bass drum will not disappoint. It basically sounds like WW3!Not sure I can post this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come and collect it or sort out your own man with van. Any questions, please ask and please check out my other vintage percussion listings. I will also be listing an early 50's WMP 14 x 6 Radio King snare, all original. Thanks
