Entirely American made 1980 Gibson Sonex. The Sonex series was made in the early '80s as an affordable take on the classic Les Paul shape. Sonex guitars were mostly distinguished by their use of what Gibson called a "multi-phonic" body (i.e., the body is made with a wood core surrounded by a dense resin). Th is Custom version of the Sonex-180 included a coil-tap switch.Everything works well on the guitar; however, the only downsides to the guitar is the wear on the back of the neck from the previous owner leaving it against a seemingly padless guitar stand and the corner of the headstock that is broken. TOTALLY ORIGINAL - NO MODS OR SWITCHOUTS
