The D*A*M TV-Byen 'Danmarks Radio Special' MKI.5. An extremely limited custom built unit from a set of only two pieces made in total, this being unit #001 and the only one available publicly. In a nutshell, it's a two transistor Tone Bender, AKA the MKI.5, featuring two black glass OC75's. The idea with the namesake and the tuning of the circuit was based around a simple thought, which was - What if the Tone Bender used by Jimmy Page on the Danmarks Radio footage was a two transistor variant? Not saying it was; not saying it wasn't either, it is very unlikely you or I will ever know, it's also unlikely that Jimmy knows either. Purely just a thought to base a pedal on. There are examples of the Tone Bender Professional MKII that do feature the two transistor circuit and the sonic line between a high gain MKI.5 circuit and low gain MKII circuit is a fine one indeed. Like I say, just a thought. This example being at the upper end of MKI.5 gain territory but still what I'd consider a medium gain fuzz pedal. You can dig in and it will follow suit, it won't choke out on bends and full chords will ring evenly and sustain with a healthy decay. It responds quickly to pick attack and also responds dynamically to the strength of your attack, as in, softer picking will yield a softer fuzz tone and visa versa. Guitar interaction is good delivering an even and clear clean-up with the volume control roll back, though do bare in mind this is a germanium fuzz pedal sporting two OC75's so high temperature environments will greatly diminish this effect. Construction wise the pedal is assembled in a similar fashion to how I build Tone Benders for Sola Sound with the difference being a slightly shrunken enclosure format and also the addition of slide out battery drawer. The enclosure is powder coated and professional screen printed. All components are measured and tested prior to assembly delivering finely tuned fuzz pedal that was made possible from many years of study and research. D*A*M has been an established business since 2004 and I have produced Tone Benders for Sola Sound since 2009.This pedal was built on 27th November 2016. Even though it is a freshly built unit please note that there are some very slight manufacturer marks on the back plate around the fixing holes for the screws. See the above photographs for details. Brass tacks: Payment is due within 24 hours of the close of the auction. I do not take returns on custom built listings. Please ask all questions and do your research before you spend your hard earned money.
