Up for sale, a 1990 Rickenbacker 360 in exceptional condition, with a stunning Fireglo finish. This100% stock Rickenbacker has a wonderfully resonant acoustic tone that has plenty of chime and jangle via the stock Hi Gain single coil pickups. Easily one of the most comfortable feeling and effortless playing Rics we've had here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, this guitar exemplifies everything we love about these hollowbody gems. The tone has great warmth and nuance, and when you strum a chord with authority, the guitar feels very solid and vibrant. Weighing in at 7lbs 12oz, this guitar is simply a joy to play, with a nitro lacquer burst that has a warmer, more traditional looking Fireglo finish, with more yellow at the center and a smoother gradient to the deep reds at the edges of the body. Professionally setup here at our shop and strung with 10-46 strings, this 360 features low action and solid intonation. The neck has a medium C profile with a thick slab rosewood fretboard and triangular pearloid inlays that extend to the edges of the board. The nitro gloss finish on the fretboard shines like new, and the frets are virtually unplayed with well rounded crowns and only the faintest hint of wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3. The truss rods are ideally adjusted and the neck is perfectly straight, with action that is low and comfortable, with no buzzing or dead spots. The headstock boasts walnut wings, the original Rickenbacker logo/truss rod cover, and the stock set of Schaller chrome tuning machines. All of the electronics work as they should, including the ingenious fifth 'blender' knob which lets you mix in the neck pickup's low end girth with the snappy treble of the bridge pickup. All solder joints are untouched and the CTS pots date to the 28th week of 1990. The original chrome "R" tailpiece is in fantastic shape, and the bridge and chrome pickup covers have clean chrome plating. The Fireglo finish is absolutely gorgeous and more akin to what Rickenbacker currently calls "Autumnglo," with a visual warmth and smooth fade from amber to red.
Cosmetically, the guitar is extremely clean, showing only a few light finish scratches and very faint buckle rash on the back. There is also faint wear in the pick path on the bass side of the body and on the treble side horn in the clear coat of the nitro lacquer. There is no finish checking on the guitar and the finish is very glossy and vibrant with only the faintest yellowing of the clear coat, which accentuates the deep red at the edges of the body. The original silver top of the line Rickenbacker hardshell case is included.
