Bamboo: Japanese Madake bamboo harvested growing in the US. Pitch: Bass "Eb" at A440, tuned with subtractions and additions. Dimensions: Length 100 cm / 39-3/8th in / 3.3 shaku Width at top chin rest 4.3cm x 4.3cm / 1-3/4 in Bore: Medium-wide all natural. Weight: 532g / 1 pound 3 oz Finger holes: Right hand on bottom. Holes opened slowly by hand. Notes: Deep tone with lots of bass that you can feel AKA "chikuin". Medium to large hands are a must and playing with the pinky for the top hand aids greatly in comfort. A long reach makes playing more ergonomic. This flute has the especially nice characteristic of being light weight for its size enabling one to play it for extended periods. I bought this a few years ago, along with many other flutes from around the world. It’s now time to reduce my collection of flutes to make room to other instruments.
