This is an extremely rare and original USA-built Steinberger GS7TA guitar. These are very scarce Steinberger models, and finding an original USA-built example like this one is amazing. This guitar was just restored and set-up by Jeff Babicz, who was the former head of production at the Steinberger Sound factory in Newburgh, N.Y. Jeff dressed and polished the frets, serviced the electronics and set-up the guitar. He rebuilt the TransTrem with new sealed bearings and spring and did a full set-up on the guitar.GS7TA's have amazing tone versatility, as the factory mini-toggle converts the EMG 89 humbuckers to single-coil sound. This, in conjunction with the HAZ Labs active EQ (with separate controls for treble and bass - boost and cut) allows for incredible tone range. A great playing guitar that's just been serviced by the world's top Steinberger tech and is ready for the next 30 years of service. It now plays and performs as well as (or probably better than) the day that it left the factory.The GS7TA series was one of the last guitars designed and built by Ned Steinberger. This was the first (and only) time that a Steinberger instrument was produced with a headstock, and clean, original examples are very rare. The tuning system is amazing, and works perfectly. This is Ned's only TransTrem guitar series that does NOT require double ball-end strings! This example is in gorgeous condition. There are a few very tiny finish flaws (see photos), but they are purely cosmetic and do not affect the playability or performance of this guitar in any way.This Steinberger GS7TA guitar will ship in its original factory-logo black Steinberger gig-bag with its vibrato arm, a new black cotton strap, an extra set of strings, and a copy of Jeff's work-order.
