Description
Esquire Lap Steel GuitarMade by Kay in 1939 for Selmer, a French company that had a US base out of Elkhart, Indiana. Conn-Selmer is the largest manufacturer of band and orchestral instruments in the United States. They also represent Ludwig drums and Steinway Pianos. We had one of these about 12 years ago & hadn’t seen another since. It is the same guitar with a different paint motif that we’ve had branded as Kay & Oahu. Mahogany body shaped similar to Gibson’s Recording Kings. The pickup is a strong single coil evolved from an earlier Meissner development. As seen in the photos, this, including the case, is in excellent condition.A great player & very cool bit of history.*Please see our other listings and store for many other Vintage Lap Steel Guitars and Amplifiers. We currently have Alamos, Audio Vox, Bronsons, Dickersons, Dobros, English, Epiphones, Fenders, Gibsons, Harmonys, Kays, Maestros, Magnatones, McKinney, Nationals, Oahus, Rickenbachers, Sho Bud, Silvertones, Supertones, Supros, Vegas, and White Lap Steels.* *We also accept Cashier's Checks, Personal checks (have to clear) and Bank Transfers. Please contact for information.*
