GIBSON L-5 Wes Montgomery Electric Jazz Guitar.Made in the Gibson Custom Shop in 1998. Lovingly maintained in a temperature and Humidity controlled room, in my private collection, and yes, in it's Original Hard Shell Case, since my original purchase.  One of several L-5s, this one was the prettiest and was kept as a back-up that was never put into rotation... i.e., never gigged.Much of this collection is now being liquidated to pay bills after a back injury some years back.I am no longer performing, and moving to a smaller place. This is the only reason these guitars are being sold at this time.  Regrettably, I just can't keep them all.The Wes Montgomery Model remains THE choice for the dedicated Jazz player, apart from the CES Model.Wes did not want to compromise the natural resonance of the top with an un-used second, bridge pickup. My feelings exactly.    Today’s Wes Montgomery model features a body crafted with a spruce top, and Curly Maple back and sides. The body is bound in multi-ply black and white binding on both the top and back, with single-ply white binding around the f-holes. The gold hardware includes an ABR-1 bridge with a base made from ebony, Gibson’s period-correct L-5 tailpiece and Schaller M6 Tuners. The 25½-inch scale length neck is a five-piece neck made primarily from Curly Maple, with two streamers made from walnut. The 20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl block inlays and multi-ply black and white binding is hand-fitted to Gibson’s traditional rounded, Jazz profile neck. The pickup is Gibson’s legendary ’57 Classic, which faithfully captures the unique and subtle variations of the original “Patent Applied For” humbuckers of the late 1950s, and delivers a warm and full tone with a balanced response. Gibson’s traditional flower pot inlay adorns the headstock.SN:  90228005, mfg. 1998.Original GIBSON Hard Shell Case is included. This new L-5 is just coming into its own as the top has had adequate time to dry naturally, over time, in a controlled temperature & humidity environment.A unique find for the serious Jazz player. This is one of the good ones...Shipping will be via FedEx and the guitar will be fully Insured by FedEx Insurance.Adult Signature Required upon delivery.
