The Gibson J-160E Standard Acoustic-Electric, first released in 1954, was made famous by artists such as The Beatles. Its brassy, high-output acoustic-electric sound combined with punchy, warm acoustic tone re-creates the sound that led a musical revolution in the '60s. Features a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, trapezoid fingerboard inlays, single-coil magnetic pickup at the neck, and volume and tone controls. I offer a vintage 1966 Gibson J-160E Accoustic Electric "John Lennon" guitar. This instrument has been with me since the late seventies, following the breakup of a very good college band. It is fine working order, and the tone is bright, sweet and clean. Beautiful original Sunburst finish, with some normal wear from its performing days.All parts are original to the best of my knowlege, and the only repair was reinforcement of the bridge, professionally done at my local guitar shop. It comes in a hardshall case.This fine instrument deserves to be played more than it has been recently, and would be a great addition to any collection.
