For sale is my 1950s original Gallotone Champion acoustic guitar with its very rare original cloth carry case (these cases have nearly always been
This model of guitar is well documented as being the first guitar than John Lennon bought all those years ago and is becoming increasing rare to get hold of. John was playing it when he first met Paul McCartney!
Because this one has been well loved/used and considering its age I would suggest it would be more of a guitar to hang on the wall and admire, rather than to play. More of a museum piece.
Everything on this guitar is original apart from 1 screw than someone has put through the heel of the neck (please see photograph) also, the end pin has fallen out of the bottom of the guitar leaving a small hole (again, please see photograph)
There are scrapes and marks all over the guitar as it is pushing 60 years old and the action is quite high and the neck is bowed. The leather strap will need fixing on the carry case too.
This would make a fantastic Christmas present for a true John Lennon fan!!
