For Sale is a Buffet R-13 B-flat clarinet serial no. 160844. I am the second owner of this clarinet that has been well treated by both myself and the previous owner. It is a “150th Anniversary” edition which was in 1975. The serial numbers match. It will come with two Buffet barrels and a Buffet mouthpiece as well as the 150th Anniversary case. One barrel is “B 63” and measures 63mm, the other is not labeled and measures 65mm.. The mouthpiece is stamped C with a crown adjacent to it. I didn’t use it. It is in very good condition. This clarinet will fulfill the high expectations that this vintage of the R-13 has established. It has exceptional tone and plays easily. I’ve owned it about 15 years, and during that time only did minor repairs (pads and cork) as needed as it has always played very well. You may notice some moisture on some of the photos as I’m still playing it when I have time.  Please look carefully at the 2nd and 3rd photos. The last time I had an adjustment done (a few years ago) the repairman pointed out a potential hairline crack. It is very difficult to see, and neither he nor I were sure under good light if there is a crack or not. In any event, he said it was inconsequential since repair was not needed, or likely in the future. I had only had it worked on previously by one repairman who also played clarinet, and he never mentioned the suspicious area. Had the second repairman not mentioned it, I doubt that I would have ever noticed. You have to look very carefully just to the right of the 6 o’clock position inside the ring. The 3rd photograph shows what this area looks like from the outside.   The following quote is from this website: , “Apparently the most wanted Buffets are from the range 83k to 200k (1965 to 1979)”. Please see the pictures and ask any questions. I try to respond promptly. You will not be sorry if you buy this fine instrument.
